NOTES FROM THE
MIRZA PROVOST GUARD
Our Provost Guard enjoyed a great time at CSSA this year. Mirza was well
represented in the various shooting classes again. The trophies won were: first
place in “B” division in trap; 3rd place in “A” division in trap; 1st place in
“B” vision in pistols; 2nd place in sporting clays.
Individual contests included Larry Lamborn tied for first in pistol shooting;
Dave Mangile took 3rd place in “B” division in trap.
Provost Guard hopes to field a good contingent of shooters at the Mirza Chanute
Sporting Clays event on Sunday, Oct. 14th.
Vote carried to buy two of the new tables for Mirza.
Plans are proceeding to have our annual
Turkey Shoot at Dude Recid’s place with a tentative schedule of Sunday, Nov. 11,
2007. All of Mirza and the public are welcome. We hope to have a good turnout
for this event. There will be turkeys, hams, etc. awarded as prizes. Flyers for
this event will be posted at various locations.
Special plaques have been made to commemorate our own Lloyd “Dude” Redd’s many
efforts to Provost Guard. A plaque will be presented to the family of Dude, and
one to hang in Provost Guard meeting place. He is missed and always will be
missed for the kind of man he was, and all that he has given to the Provost
Guard, and to Mirza.
