MIRZA MONSTER TRUCKS
By Norman German
Jan 2008
Won’t be long until 2008 begins with a fresh new year. 2007 ended with some
pretty wet, icy and snowy days after Thanksgiving. The Christmas parades were
pretty cold again this year.
Fort Scott had another cold but very nice Christmas parade to welcome Santa
Claus. Dee Ann G. and Lee Patrick Davis braved the cold to meet the jolly old
elf.
Then the Davis and German’s made the Homes for the Holidays tour at the Scottish
Rite Temple to meet with Santa Claus again. Santa gave each child a toy and
listened to their wish list. The temple also had punch and cookies for everyone
to enjoy.
Buck E., the clown, had been out making the season more cheerful for the adults
and children. Everyone enjoys his wonderful skits he puts together. He was in
Ft. Scott for a birthday party and brought another friend, Spank E. along. The
clowns do help cheer the adults and children.
Thanks again Potentate John & Lady Jana for another great year with the Shrine.
Monster Trucks, Having Fun
& Helping Children
Oct 2007
We are still around watching the parades and enjoying the work the Shrine does
to help the children in need of special care at the hospitals.
Age and the health bug has slowed some of us down from performing in the
parades. We try to help in other areas.
Allen Davis is like others that are at work but his family Dee Ann, Jasmine &
Lee Patrick try to get to a few of the parades to cheer everyone else on.
Our own Charlie Parker AKA Buck E. the clown, has had a very busy year. He was
the President of Central States Shrine Clown Association this year. Linda Parker
helped with table decorations on 8/31 and 9/1 and 9/2, 2007 at Kansas City,
Missouri. Norman & Pat German made 54 Walnut trophy bottoms and mounted
different clown ornaments on each for the prizes at the competition.
Congratulations to all that won one of the great prizes at the dinner. Several
received an 8x10 framed clown CSSCA certificate also for their hard work.
Fort Scott had a great Good Old Days Parade. Everyone enjoyed the rain at 6:00
start up time. The Pioneer Harvest Parade was also wonderful again this year.
Mr. Fox, the band director, had a great band and music traveling up Main St. The
band was very impressive and got lots- of whistles and hand clapping from the
crowd.
Another great year in 2007 will soon be over for it is Fall now.
Won’t be long until Christmas parades & the New Year.
Thank you John & Jana for a great year.
