4-01-08 Potentate's Letter
Greetings Friends,
Time does fly when you’re having fun, we are a quarter the
way through our term and it seemed only yesterday I was installed.I want to
start by reminding everyone of our monthly breakfast at the temple, if you can’t
come to help then come up for a great breakfast and visit with us. We finished
up our Visitations the 25th of March at Elsmore, we had a good time traveling
and visiting with you all.
The Uniformed Unit fundraiser was a great success at Arma High School, we had another Donkey Ball game and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, I think it will be a great event for years to come.
The elected Divan traveled to CSSA Business Session in St. Joseph in late February, Mirza was well represented in all aspects.
I can’t start or attempt to thank all those involved in our ball March 29th. I will start with Chief Aide Mike & Sally Cook, Assistant Chief Aide Rick & Debra Cummings and CK Clowns and the rest of the Aides who brought snacks or helped out at the hotel during the afternoon reception before the ball. Illustrious Sir Paul Uttley, Lady Glenda and the Ball Committee for a night Denise and I will remember for a lifetime. I’ve never served on a ball committee but I know there was a lot of hard work put in by all of you, we could not have asked for more.
Please come out and enjoy some of the upcoming events we have on the calendar we have planned them for the nobility. Looking forward to seeing you soon and bring a friend, we need them.
Come out & enjoy the Ride!
David
4-01-08 First Lady's Letter
Can you believe three months have already passed us by? I’ve heard Past Potentate’s and First Ladies comment on how fast this year goes and I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting it to fly by quite so fast. Your Divan Line has been very busy attending the Club Visitations which we finished the end of March and I would like to thank each club for the wonderful hospitality shown to us.
To David’s Chief Aide, Mike Cook and his Lady Sally along with Assistant Chief Aide, Rick Cummings and Lady Debra and the CK Clown Unit, THANK YOU doesn’t start to show how much David and I have appreciated all you have done to make this year special. The hospitality preceding Installation was wonderful and also a blessing for us not to have to provide the food. David & I cannot say enough about the wonderful food that was provided for the guests at the reception before the ball and what a great job you as well as all the aides that contributed towards it.
Those Nobles and Ladies that attended the Potentate’s Ball saw what a spectacular job Chairpersons Illustrious Sir Paul Uttley and Lady Glenda along with the entire Ball Committee did to transform the upstairs of Mirza into a beautiful Mardi Gras theme complete with a French Quarter. David and I as well as our daughters, Ashton and Bailey and other family members thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We will cherish our pictures and memories from that night for the rest of our lives.
The Divan Ladies have been busy selling Mirza Friends and Family Cookbooks for this years project, if you haven’t gotten your copy yet just ask one of the Divan Ladies or they are also still for sale in the Mirza Office.
On March 9th we had the presentation for our trip “Discover Tuscany” which will be a 10 day trip exploring Italy including Rome, Assisi, Basilica of St. Francis, Montecatiti Terme, Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Pisa and so much more. If you are interested in joining our family on this trip with Collette Vacations please contact David, myself or the Mirza Office for your form, deposits are due by May 6th.
In closing I would like to remind everyone about Mirza’s Player Appreciation Banquet at the shrine center on Sunday, April 27th to begin at 6:00. Please make your reservations through the office and come show your support to the young gentlemen that will be representing our area this year in the Kansas Shrine Bowl.
